Bovine is the namesake publication of BOVINE press. It uses a “poetic” formation of knowledges—narrated text, found texts, and a long-sourced archive of images—to explore the significance of the word bovine as it relates to language, production and consumption, body, gender. The publication offers insight into the publishing interests of the press, and represents BOVINE’S interest in recontextualizing unmodified texts and images to create new knowledges. It llustrates that process of authorship by preserving sources instead of integrating them into one homogenous text, and by using text styles to plainly categorize source type.
